A recent graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Music Composition and a Music Technology minor, Caitlin studied as a Regents and Cynthia D. Carlson scholar under Eric Richards, Kurt Knecht, and Damon Thomas Lee. Caitlin is currently studying with the renowned composer-in-residence of the Houston Symphony, Gabriela Lena-Frank. She has directed many ensembles including a capella groups, vocal jazz ensembles, chamber groups, big bands, orchestras and more, as well as having extensive experience doing master classes and workshops for children of all ages and musical backgrounds. A firm believer in music education being accessible for all, Caitlin is a substitute teacher for El Sistema in Denver, and has extensive experience volunteering in music programs for underserved schools during her time in Nebraska. When not composing, she enjoys spending time performing as a jazz vocalist, pianist, and saxophonist. In addition to jazz, she has plenty of experience performing classical, rock, indie, and folk music.
